£34.99 is steep for an American who is interested in the history but doesn't necessarily want a hardcover edition. Are there plans in the works for a PDF?
Trust me, you want the hardcover this one time. It's a gorgeous book, and a true coffee-table volume (if you can ever put the darn thing down, it's a fascinating read). Worth it!!
