For those of us here who will be unable to attend the deep space tournament, what would have been your chosen skirmish and battle choice if you could go?

Mine is a Demos for my skirmish, and a Dargan for battle

Probably Apollo and Chronos.
Seeing as I've just bought a load of Vorlon Destroyers (or old Transports at least), I'd also consider a Destroyer/Transport combination. Just to keep the young'uns in line ;)

Just an interesting observation, there won't be many fighters in the fleets. The only ways I can see to get more than 4 flights are a Morshin, or Raiders!

Hmmm......Strike Carrier and Dreadnought....fear the mighty Delta-V!

Annoyingly I'm probably not going to make it. If I do, though, I'll be going with a Marata and a Lakara. One to be diplomatic at things that pop up, and one to be a big stick if needed.....

If figters regenerate between games then a xonn and xeel combo would be nasty. But If I used my centauri it would be a primus and demos. I know a liati would be more menouverable, but I like primuses, and I think a primus has a bit more staying power. With only 2 ships that might be important.

(ok, I havn't done the math concerning hull 6,damage52 Vs hull 5, damage 26, dodge 4)

hmmm,
Narn G'Lan and Thentus. EA, could do a Marathon and Chronos. drakh Strike cruiser with light raider, with a light raider. Minbari Tinashi and Torotha (big skirmish selection!!), Brakiri Brokados and Brikorta

If it has to be those exact levels I would have to take a shadow hunter + chronos....

but then I would get fightered to death....

No allies allowed. And you probably wouldn't get fightered to death, the maximum number of fighters is likely to be 4 whereas you'd have 2... not bad odds. Unless someone brings a Morshin.

You'll only get fightered to death if someone takes a carrier.

For Dilgar I'd take Tikrit and Ochlavita-Ki.

For Drazi, Stormfalcon and Darkhawk.

For EA Omega and Assault Hyperion (the only two EA ships I have).

I've had a fighter carrier then. Though there not really allies.

"EarthForce Requisition: The Psi Corps has many friends within EarthGov and it is a relatively simple matter for telepaths to
requisition Earth Alliance warships for their own purposes. The commanding offi cers of Earth are unlikely to ever know the true
nature of their mission.
When using a Psi Corps fl eet, you may spend 2 Fleet Allocation Points of your allowance on ships from one of the Earth Alliance
fl eet lists."

I don't see the word ally there :P

I was toying with the idea of a Brokados with an Admiral onboard, and a Brikorta... 10 flights of fighters, 2 Falkosi (with a total of +3 dogfight) and 8 Pikitos (6 with +1 dogfight, 2 with +0) and 2 Breaching Pods.

The other 2 Admiral traits (apart from Topgun) would probably have been Lucky and Inspired Command... Brakiri with +3 Initiative :-D

Matt has clarified that ISA and Psi Corps don't get allies in this tournament. Since it's a tournament then I'd assume Ipsha and Lumati aren't allowed unless specified. Admiral on a Raid ship, now that is an interesting idea!

mmmmmmmmm ok then.

Mothership + admiral, Fighter carrier. hehe

Crusade EA: Chronos and probably an Omega loaded with Thunderbolts

Minbari: Torotha and Tinashi. Id consider a Morshin but that would be just too reliant on the Nials to inflict the damage for my liking,

Centauri: Demos and Dargan.

I wouldnt use Vorlons and cant use shadows (no skirmish choice).

Woulnt use ISA since I 1) Hate the WS Gunship, 2) The NoloTar is rubish except for killing fighters.

And I think that covers my fleets :P

But it is 5 FAPS... 5 point skirmish, limited to 1 battle and 1 skirmish selection. Isn't it?
No PL or FAP amount are specified. I guess it depends how VPs are calculated on the day, if indeed VPs are even used!
