death knight in helgedad palace of war

he stands, unnamed, as one of the three leaders of the drakkar nation, the one in charge of the death knights's instruction and alone in his 5th degree in that art, things you all know better than me. Here's the question: we have been told that every drakkar reaching the death knight status MUST be dedicated to a darklord, therefore who this one belongs to? Or being the death knights grandmaster grants Him in someway a kind of independence and he dosn't belong to anyone of the 20/17? Could he be possibly dedicated to Vashna in the past?

Thanks

By the way, there are 19 Darklords alive as of MS 5000, they go down to 18 in MS 5050 once Lone Wolf zaps Zagarna.

Good question otherwise. I think it's really up to the GM to decide.

Each Death Knight is devoted to a specific Darklord as a whole, but I am betting the Arch Knight is devoted to whoever controls the throne of the Archlord, so Zagarna at current. If the Arch Knight survived the purges and leftover political strife after the destruction of Zagarna and Haakon, and the ascension of Gnaag to the throne of the Archlord, then he would be dedicated to Gnaag after 5052-5057.

I'd imagine that a new Arch-Knight would get picked upon the ascension of a new Darklord to the black throne. I doubt it's possible for a Death Knight to transfer alliegances like that. Besides, he'd probably be one of the first people the new Archlord would have executed.
