Critical Succes in combat

If a combatant roles a Critical Succes in combat and the opponent does not roll any roll, how do I calculate the level of success?

I presume I give the combatant 2 Combat Manoeuvres - the lack of a defensive roll should count as a Failure, I guess?

Am I correct that there are no specific advantage in combat when you roll a Critical Success, right? You get a Combat Manoeuvre? But how many? A stickler to the rules could opt that a Critical Succes shouldn't result in any Combat Manoeuvre since there hasn´t been any opposed roll.

There is an answer for this in reply to your post in the rules master section of the forum, which i wont repeat here :)

The rules state specifically that no roll = failed roll. So a crit vs. fail / no roll = 2 CM.

The advantage to getting a crit is - apart from the extra CM over a success - is that the most dangerous CMs require a crit.

For instance if A crits and B fails his roll or does not roll, then A can choose Maximise Damage and Choose Location to go for the location that is least armoured. He could also Trip him AND impale him - ensuring that he will likely surrender, since you're probably not going to get up from that.

Criticals are dangerous.

+1. Critical hits vs. a fail are basically fight ending rolls.
