Critical Hits?

Hi all
As for Critical Hits. If I repair for example Crew Critical (5) Localized decompression (d+1) (c+3) and my ship is Hyperion with crew and damage now on ( d 5\6 c5\6 ) after repairs I will get (d6\6 c8\6) or just repair system without any “returning stats” ? And if Threshold is achieved , like for hyperion “ skeleton crew” can it be un- achieved in any way?

You do not repair the damage/crew lost from a critical hit if you repair it later, you only repair the special effects that go with the hit.

In the related situation of Self-Repair bringing a ship to above the crippled threshold again then the ship is no longer crippled. However, as in the case above, any systems lost through being crippled are not repaired automatically with the loss of being crippled.

Example 1:

A ship takes a Weapons Offline critical hit.
This causes 2 points of crew and hull damage. In addition, it takes the port side weapons offline.

Later on in the game, the vessel manages to repair this critical hit.
Port weapons can now fire, however, the crew and hull damage is not restored.

Example 2:

A Shadow Omega takes sufficient damage to take it below it's 12 point "crippled" threshold.
The omega loses interceptors as well as (possibly) some other systems due to becoming crippled. In addition, this ship now suffers additional penalties for being crippled.

Next turn the Omega is lucky and manages to self repair up to 16 points of hull. It no longer takes penalties for being crippled, but the systems destroyed do not get restored. (In essence this is the penalty for crossing the threshold.)

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I thought that once crippled, always crippled? Half movement, turns reduced, etc. Til the end of the scenario, that is.

If your self-repair survives the initial crippling, it may be able to take you back out of your threshold and you wont be crippled any longer. Only problem is that any non-ancient ships with self repair will probably be skeleton crewed at the same time they're crippled. Self repair obviously can't help with that...

I was pretty sure that once you crossed the crippled threshold you stayed crippled, even if your self-repair took you back up over the threshold.

LBH quotes Matt's ruling from a tournament here: http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=21646
Healing hull points does not un-cripple the ship.

I was under the impression that you could uncripple the ship (thus not counting as crippled any more) but you DONT get back traits youve lost. However if its been ruled that you dont become uncrippled at all, thats fair enough :)

That seems to deal with traits, but not the speed/turn restrictions imposed by crippling.
Assuming that LBH quoted Matt correctly:

at a Mongoose tournament and MSprange saying you don't reroll for lost traits, you only do that when you're crippled, healing hull points back does not uncripple the ship, that can only happen between campaign turns

Once your crippled you stay crippled no matter how many hit points you repair and you cannot get traits back at all (during the battle anyway, afterwards in campaign games is another story but that should answer the original question anyway!)

What happens if the ship becomes crippled again? This happens frequently with my Whitestars. They take just enough damage to be crippled by 1 damage point, repairing the next turn.

Each time they are crippled do they have to roll to loose traits again? This could become very painfull to my ships which tend to be crippled 2-3 times in some cases.

A correct assumption, you can't uncripple yourself through self repair.
