Covers for Uz - A Guide to Trolls and Swords Against Sorcery

Mongoose
The covers for Uz - A Guide to Trolls and Swords Against Sorcery are up in the RQ section of the main site.

And the snouts look like....

...this.

Now i am satisfied:
The generic fantasy RuneQuest Troll looks like the one in the Rule and Monster books, but GLORANTHAN trolls look like gloranthan trolls again! Great news!

Much better. Still not my favorite, but at least they aren't hairy and piglike. Good call Mongoose.

I don't want to re-ignite the pig-troll hate, but something's been bothering me about the Argan Argar illustration from CoG1 which forms one of the "exhibits" in this case .... am I the only person here old enough and with the right musical skeletons in my closet to have been struck by the curious similarities between this and the cover of Heaven 17's Penthouse and Pavement?

Anyway, I approve of this cover.

I'm off for Christmas, and probably won't be online for a few days. Have a good one, everyone.

Thanks for the heads-up Rurik. I keep forgetting the Mongooses post important things on their part of the Forum.
Have to agree that the illustrations are great.
Of course the flip side, is that I now must buy this just to see if the content matches the Cover illustration.

Not the best, but heading in the right direction. No need for ban-resulting raging fits of outrage at least! 8)

What is this by the way: "The Soothsayer's Lament"
Is it gloranthan?

Trif.

OH MY GOD!

That is horrible! What happened to the pig-snouted trolls I'd come to love? DAMN YOU MONGOOSE FOR CHANGING THEM!

*ahem*

Ok, this was just a joke. :)

Hey! There's a pig snouted elf in Cults of Glorantha 2. Does that help? :D

He's going to be known as the Angry Mister Parsip in my game.

They look a bit unhealthy though... No bellyfat!

And do some of them have a third eye?

 Trif.

Third eye for a troll would propably make him a Zorak Zorani heroquester. Ol' ZZ is classically depicted as an old troll with a third eye on his forehead, I think.

Is there not a Gorakiki rune spell (or whoever the spider one was) that got you extra eyes? to go with your extra arms etc...?
