i'll keep it in 2010 or whenever its meant to be, and whilst the helicopters will be the right ones (roughly anyway) and eventually the tanks, the rirfles won't be! Fist technology on a Lee Enfield anyone? Now thats what i call product development. What i may do is get used to the rules, save up and then replace the infantry first, so as i phase out my airfix it will all be pretty much right time-wise, but some will be airfix, some mongoose. Main problm is how to raie up helicopters i may get.

could anyone give me the dimensions of the challenger II model please?

about 12cm long and 5cm wide. I use 1:72 models I got from easy that are about 2/3rds the price and I think look a bit better

so if i'm going to get modern troops etc i might as well look around, but i don't think i've ever seen any model troops that are smaller than 28mm.

Plenty of manufacturers for 10mm and 6mm(or even 2mm for really insane . I can paint 6mm but how on earth you can paint 2mm infantry?) moderns.

P.G. Models and Miniaturine figures produces set of 10mm moderns, GHQ produces 6mm, navwar has it's own line of 6mm.

Plenty of choises if you want to go below 28mm. Of course details starts to go lower(only so much you can sculpt to 6mm model...) but still quite good. Painting camoflage can be bit of a pain though  Though I think I got my 70 russian vechiles reasonably camoflaged afterall.

the art shop near me sells airfix stuff, and the last tank kit i brought was only £5! I saw a lynx helicopter for not much more, and i already have the glue and all the main paint colours etc already! Plus i like assembling them so it adds to the fun.
