Counters for all!!!!! Online Expression of interest!

Quite simply I'd like to encourage all of those who love the counters for this game to be continued!
[Edit: Well into the new editions that is]

Be it because it's cheaper than the minatures (good call) or because you find yourself frustrated by games that take a very long time to build and paint the models, or if you just have a most excellent cardboard fetish please post a reply here - I'd love to see EVERYTHING, including the extras in Signs and Portents have a little cardboard version - even if need be it be printed ourselves!

So band together counter/token lovers and post a reply - make them hear our thick paper voice! I'm happy to pay as long as its less than for the metal!

Voice an expression of interest now - post a reply!

I am a miniatures guy, myself, but I would certainly use counters to test out a fleet before I drop the money on metal models. Yeah, I guess I could just use any old counters for a series of simple tests but it just doesn't seem the same as having the actual picture in front of me.

Ok - thanks for posting to this thread, more posts = better exposure.

But - and yes BUT - do you go into a fruit store, tell the man you'd much prefer apples to oranges and state a case against oranges? No - you just by apples. Those who like oranges buy oranges and the world moves on.

I'd like to hear from people who actually want counters - not from those who just need to voice their opinion. We know you have one, just like something else...

EDIT: Sorry...

Sorry... have a lot of nay sayer forum experiences - my outburst was unjustified and over bearing.

Thanks for your support... lets try to get some more.

So is that everyone standing up to be counted?

Any place for any counter-arguments?

OK I always think having some counter availability helps, if you are short a model in the box, or last minute changes need some extra pieces, or just try out games - or Royal Mail being later than anticipated....

Well if you want to count using the good old USA style (Aussie here) it would mean that there are two million - maybe two hundred million - gamers that would like this!

I'm just assuming that many are not posting, reading or willing to write off a campaign one hour into it it...

Ah well - we will see, there was great interest in the fan produced dilgar and drakh counters... more in a pakmara set still.

We will see!

Stands up to be counted for counters.

I love the versatility they give to the game, you can play just about any fleet you want from the books at the drop of a hat and few minutes sorting them out.

Thats the one - not taking hundreds of dollars and hours upon hours to get "three colours as a minimum"

Yayyyyyyy! :P

i believe matt has posted somewhere they will be doing counters for all the new ships so that should mean every ship has a counter.
and this is the idea anyway so be happy and be at peace :)

Counters are what got me into the game. Being able to field any fleet I want and get the rules for $50? Heck ya! It also meant I could get my friends interested in playing some campaigns with me. Just don't have the time or the money to do the mini's.

I love using counters! (nothing like pushing pieces of mostly paper around a table while the wife adds another reason for having me commited) Easy to transport, easy to store, hard to break, easy to measure ranges! They allow people to get into the game and try it out without the immediate sticker shock to spook them!

I have the fleet attention span of a gnat so I tend to not field the same fleet twice, if I was building models, that would be prohibitively expensive and transporting them/storing them would very difficult. Someday I'll pick up some models, but for now and the future...

!! VIVE LE COUNTERS !!

definitely with the counter crew!! one of the reasons I got into the game as it came aspackage you could play straight away! Looking forward to seeing the new counter set for 2nd ed

I appologize for not making my meaning clear - I would like counters for all ships. Even though I think the miniatures look better, counters are quite useful for a great many purposes and I would buy a full set if one was available.

Is this what the original poster is looking for?

I would like to see a full set of counters for 2nd edition, or 1st edition for that matter.

I don't think we have had a full set of counters at any point in the game's history as yet.
I know there were some missing from the original box, and I'm pretty sure there were one or two missing from the SFOS/Revised packs.

LBH

only one i can think missing is the Lakara.
there may be others but thats the major one that springs to mind.
plus of course the armageddon ships and any more new ones.
