From the information provided in the Core Rulebook 1st ed. Spacecraft Design a set of five probe drones require 1 ton and repair drones space requirement is 0.01 x hull tons
From the text we know that each set of mining drones per Core Rulebook 1st edition Spacecraft Design Vehicles and Drones p. 110 write-up takes up ten tons of space which is also shown in the table on p. 111.
I also checked the Core Rulebook 2nd edition for mining drones and the write-up on p. 149 is missing the entry about a set of drones takes up ten tons.
What I do not know is how many mining drones are in a set that occupies 10 tons of space.
I started and miss spelled the topic Core Rulebook 1st ed. Spacecraft Deign/Drones and phavoc replied that checking out the Seeker datasheet on p. 180 of Core Rulebook 2nd edition there appears to be five mining drones per set.
I would like to add errata to the 1st edition Core Rulebook for mining drones as follows:
Page 110 Change mining drones to read
Since I do not know how much has changed in the design rules in the High Guard Beta edition the above change may have been included, however if that is not the case the above may help.
