So then who's going I'll be bringing a fleet along :)

Hash, Burger, and Myself. We are going to bring a table too, and may play some games in the Chalet. Though I am meant to be running Chill in the Evening too :)

What is Conception 2007? Is it the next tournament at Mongoose Towers? I am still waiting to blood my Drazi

Cpt K

No mate, its an RPG convention in Dorset over 4 days;

Locutus of Schmorg is going, so we thought we could do some ACTA :)

I'm sure Paul will be up for ACTA too, we may even get an impromptu tournament going if we get enough players and space!

I should be able to make it for the Saturday, so I will bring my Centauri fleet along. I am assuming that its 5 point raid.

Also, with regards to the Conception website, does anyone know how much it is for the day and what the full postal address is for the site, I couldn't find either.

I have a RN fleet painted for VAS :)

IIRC Conception 2007 doesn't have a "pay on entry" policy - the fees are just for accomodation (so if you're not staying in the park you don't pay!)

There is a booking fee for tables (rough £3-4 per table) for an official event but if there is a spare table no-one is using or you play in someone's chalet then it shouldn't cost you a penny :)

All "profits" from Conception go to charity as far as I know...

As a minor aside though, conception is not a gigantic event a la Gencon etc so dont expect there to be space in the main building to run a tourney or anything like that, we can probably find room for a game or two and if not Im sure therell be room in Chalets etc.

Incidentally if any of you lot play full thrust (or fancy giving it a go if youve never played) myself and friends Im staying with there are all into said game and will have our forces there for that too (FT is incredibly easy to learn if you fancy giving it a whirl and you can use any old spaceship minis for it easily enough :P)

Does this include power management, and vectors?

I know Conception is a much smaller con but Ill be honest, currently it's much better than Gencon UK! (judging Gencon from last two years...well not last year...

I don't remember much wargamering action at the last Conception I went to (2006) at all...although I really wasn't much into wargames until introduced to ACTA...

yup it is indeed way better than gencon usually :) And its more of a roleplaying sort of thing than wargaming but that doesnt mean we cant have a few games :)

Full Thrust, anyway is very simply. No power management and if anything even LESS record keeping than ACTA (very basic ship control box that you simply cross guns off if they die to crits etc).

There is an optional vector movement system though we dont play it as the other players in the group dont like it (I personally think its really rather good but the basica movement system is good too (and again very very simple :)
