Mongoose
Ill be asking some questions as I read through the rules. (Yes my Rulebook and supplements finally arrived!) Thanks in advance for any help.

1. Ability Score Improvement – it seems that with automatic ability increase most characters, as they already start with comparatively high stats, will be topping the charts eventually. Doesn’t it take some of the individualism out of the characters when they are all running around strong as an ox, quick as a fox, staunch as a bull moose, etc? Im thinking about a career thief, a master of his trade – 18th level or something. He still shouldn’t have massive strength. According to the rules however he would have had 4 automatic increases to his strength by then. Unless he started very, very low on the scale he is going to be pretty stout.

2.Travel - There some good info in the movement rules on page 12 and 13 but I don’t see and easy way to determine daily travel distance of a character wishing to hustle or intermittently run such as is mentioned in the text. There is a provision for hustling long periods, fatigue and HP loss etc, but nothing on how much distance they will travel. Sure I can do a little math in there but I would think there would be a simple provision for it.

3.Languages – is there a master list of languages somewhere?

4.Mighty Blow Fate Use – Do you include an automatic Critical Hit with this option?

5.Reputation – The Temporary Reputation DC is reduced after the first month or so but the Reputation Modifier is always in place, right?

Feinting – can a feint attempt be used in the place of an attack by a character with multiple attacks such that it can benefit from the feint in the same turn?
This appears to be a very powerful option, especially by higher levels against lower opponents.

Intimidation – is it a free action?

Parry Weapon Damage – is there an option to checking or weapon breakage every parry? The threat of a weapon breaking seems reasonable but checking every single attack seems overly hindering. Is there a compromise rule variation?

Finesse Clarification – does the character using a Finesse attack add their Strength Bonus to the damage applied in a successful attack?

Non-Lethal Damage – how is this different?

Critical Hits Clarification – How is the damage calculated?
Roll damage dice + mods then multiply by the critical multiplier?
Roll damage dice + mods and repeat a number of times equal to the multiplier?
Roll damage dice a number of times equal to multiplier then add mods?

No. Feint is a standard action normally or a move action if your have the Improved Feint feat. See the description of the Bluff skill and the Imp Feint feat for more info.

Intimidation – is it a free action?
Intimidate outside of combat takes "interaction" usually a minute at least, sometimes more. The "Demoralise Opponent" combat use of Feint is a Standard Action. However the Steely Gaze feat and Menacing Aura feat improve this.

Parry Weapon Damage – is there an option to checking or weapon breakage every parry? The threat of a weapon breaking seems reasonable but checking every single attack seems overly hindering. Is there a compromise rule variation?
There is an optional rule that if a character is using Pary DV and the attack roll exactly equalls the DV then you resolve the attack as a hit against the weapon/shield used to parry.

Finesse Clarification – does the character using a Finesse attack add their Strength Bonus to the damage applied in a successful attack?
Yes, but he does not add Str to the AP value of the weapon.

Non-Lethal Damage – how is this different?
If a character takes non-lethal damage do not subtract the damage from his current HP. Instead keep a seperate count of non-lethal damage counting upward from zero. If the total of non-lethal damage equalls the current HP the character is staggered, if the total of non-lethal excedes the current HP the character is unconscious (but not dying).

Example:
John has 10 HP. Sam stabs John with a dagger dealing 4 lethal damage, now John has 6 HP. Then Nick punches John twice, once for 4 non-lethal and once for 2 non-lethal. John now has 6 HP and 6 non-lethal damage, John is Staggered. Now Sam stabs John again for 2 lethal. John now has 4 HP and 6 non-lethal damage, John is unconscious (but not dying).

Critical Hits Clarification – How is the damage calculated?
A -Roll damage dice + mods then multiply by the critical multiplier?
B -Roll damage dice + mods and repeat a number of times equal to the multiplier?
C -Roll damage dice a number of times equal to multiplier then add mods?
A and B are both correct. C is incorrect, you multiply mods (such as Str damage and Power Attack damage) on a critical.

Note however that you only multiply the base damage dice on a critical, bonus damge dice such as sneak attack dice are NOT multiplied.

Hope that helps.
