Sorry If this is a dumb question but just what is the difference between teh Conan Compendium and the Road of Kings? Both look like like the same thing, a description of the various kingdoms and cultures of Hyboria.
One other comparison: the Road of Kings is no longer in print, and I remember reading somewhere a while ago that Mongoose has no plans to make any other prints. So if you don't have it, you're out of luck  (unless that decision changed since the last time I was on these boards, which was a while ago). And as, a/o this post, the Compendium is still in pre-release, well, you can't get either of them right now.
Good for you rgrove! The Road of Kings is a very good book to have, quite handy to quickly look up stuff about various regions.
The Compendium sounds nice as well, but I don't think it will be as essential as TRoK - more like cool little bits and pieces to sprinkle your game with.
Well then, I hope you'll give us a writeup when you get it. I'm most especially interested in hearing what you think of the two adventures included in this thing for the first time, as I already have all the S&P's and am reluctant to shell out that much cash for a reprint.
Mind you I have Every Conan release except for this and Tito's trading post, so a nice review would likely sway me into purchasing it.
Hey, ask and ye shall receive, eh? Or maybe I should have looked around before I wrote my last post immediately above. Anyways, click the link below to go to this review EricKRodriguez wrote for the Compendium, it should help a lot:
