Top of my head isn't it basicly you move your move action and if you end up within 1" you roll damage dice which is indicated in CC and allocate them to those who are within your size score? Combatants aren't locked in combat so they could return favour by shooting or moving away. If defenders are in cover they can react after you have moved but before dice are rolled so they could for example shoot at them or even move away giving position away but ensuring they won't suffer harm.

Might be wrong though. We don't have all that much of close combats.

Sorry, but I can't really describe it any clearer than the rulebook, but:

Just roll the chargers CC dice (for the entire unit of the models within Leathal Range of an enemy) and allocate dice to all models within Leathal Range (1" for men).

If there are more hits than target models, then your opponant allocates the rest - which will probably be on now dead models and so is a pretty pointless excercise :?

thanks hithero!
exactly what I thought why does the oponent allocate the rest iof the dice to his models
Thats The thing I couldn`t understand when I read the rules

Thanks

No idea, and after reading the rules to answer your question found out I was playing wrong as I diced for each model in turn :)
I guess that by your opponant allocating dice will reduce the damage done by Elites that roll 2 dice plus re-rolls - a certain kill otherwise.
