Cheesy Covers

Cozmo

Mongoose
Is the artwork in many of the books going to be improved. The arachnid and Pathfinder covers are cool, and most of the art in the skinny book (inside of MI and Arachnid I haven't seen) is great but then the art in the pathfinders main rules and probably elsewhere is not. Are we going to be seeing more of the artwork in the same style as that in the Skinny book, I sure hope so. (I can't get over how cool the picture of the leader of slaves looksin the book).

It feels like that sometimes.

Sadly, I agree. I love the hell out of Mongoose, but it feels like their staff is stretched thin at times. The "behind the scenes" series in S&P is excellent at showing the inner workings of the company, though

I like the cover art for the pathfinder book, the main rulebook, the klendathu campaign. The MI, Skinnie, and archnid books not so much. I don't like how the arachnids on the coverpage looked. I prefer the movie style.

Another one resurrected.

Where have you been Chris?

As for the covers, what we have seen of BF: Evo and SST: Evo, it looks like they have taken a step in the right direction as both look great. Hopefully the interior art is up to par as well.

Handling the career end of things. Hopefully the financial and time side of things will stabilize and I'll have time for SST. I give you guys credit, I'm flipped through my Arachnid Empire army book right now, considering buying magnetic basing, and some extra figs to represent a rebel colony from last month's issue. Trying to suss ou what the used for the colonists...

BFE doesn't interest me, but TAG histoircals are good (sorry Mongoose) and I may pick up some of the pickups as technicals to use in the SST rebel colony.

The stuff does look good, but they still make the cardinal sin of not showing off the models enough. As much as it pains me to say it, they really could take a page from that "other" company and make a concerted effort to showcase their products.

But remember that we have only seen the covers and the actual rulebooks (at least for BF: Evo anyway) are not scheduled to come out for a few months after the initial release. This gives them plenty of time to flesh out their various mini lines some before the books hit the shelves, giving them time to get some picks and put them into said same books.

As for the colonists, I am going with the Gang boxed set for Gangs of Mega City 1. Not a very good miniature IMO, but considering how many you can field and how fast they will probably die, an inexpensive mini seems the way to go. The fact that I have a few boxes lying around the house not being used is also a factor.
