Cyberpunk 2020's old Chrome Books did that shopping catalogue approach too, didn't they? (presumably the gun stats are in the back of the book or something?)

Not a bad model to work from, certainly. There were also similar books for Car Wars. Pictures and tidbits of chrome are what stick with players.

Hopefully the pics are a bit brighter. Spending all that effort to get a featureless black silhouette in the final product would be a horrible waste.

This may well answer the question someone posted, oh, yonks ago, asking the forum what these things would look like and requesting graphics showing the reader the appearance of the products in the list.

Yep, I was one of those asking for pictures, with the 2300 AD equipment
guide as an example of what I was hoping for.
If the other parts of the Central Supply Catalogue are as good as the re-
view, I will be an extremely happy customer.

Cool, nicely done, but the critical thing is the presence of equipment other than weapons, in large quantities. For me weapons (and related combat gear) should even only occupy a quarter or a third of the book.
