Campaign Fleet examination

ok got a few campaign fleets for you to look in on here (these are all mine im currently painting up the ships)

Minbari

1 Neshatan
2 Sharlin (sharkaan advanced war cruiser variant)
1 Morshin carrier
3 Tigara fast attack cruiser
6 Torotha
Man Minbari are the hardest to do as they have little in the way of patrol and skirmish ships

Crusade Era EA

1 Nemesis
1 Poseidon super carrier
4 Chronos
1 Marathon
1 Apollo class bobardment cruiser
Same problem with the Minbari, but i think this fleet is a hit hard hit first and then think about tactics

Centauri

1 Octurion
3 Primus (Tertius class variant)
6 Vorchan (demos variant)
2 Centurion
1 Balvarix
1 Dargan
2 Maximus
High number of ships more of a tactical force, this one im the most happy with as i have a lot of combinations there.

Narn

1 Bin'Tak
2 G'Quan (G'Quonth variant)
2 Rongoth
2 Dag'Kar
2 Sho'Kar
2 Thentus
2 G'Karith
Simmilar in feel to the Centauri with the tactical options available. Ill have to look at how these guys fair in open combat though.

So there are my lists love to hear your thoughts opinions or advice on this, most of my centauri are done soon to start work on my Narn then hopefully at the same time complete my Minbari. Hoping to use this to recruit some local players.

Rather than comment on the individual fleets, I'll just mention that I always take a couple of extra Wings of fighters, usually one of Breaching Pods too. It gives you more options at low PL (although not really worth it for Minbari), and lets you refill ships which lose fighters immediately. Many people would rather do without a War level ship at the start too, to give more lower-level options, but I also like the big ships.

I'd go for more Raid ships with the Minbari... Leshath, Teshlan etc.
And, lots of Ka'Toc/Ka'Tan for the Narn. Can never have too many of them. In fact you've got well under 10 Battle points of Narn, remember you can get a Raid and 2 Skirmish for 1 battle point.

I'd probably drop one of the Minbari War choices for a Tinashi, and 3 Raid choices (Leshath/Teshlan/Ashinta).

EA Crusade, I'd drop a Chronos for some Hermes, as that fleet is even more top heavy than the Minbari.

I don't know the other fleets well enough, but your narn fleet seems a few ships short, and um, a G'Quonth?! WHY? take a G'Vrahn instead, a much better ship offering interesting tactical options. Of course if you want to use G'Quan Variants, the G'Lan is actually quite handy, looses e-mines in exchange for a mag gun, and and extra dice on the beam, pretty handy ship though. Bulk out in the skirmish area, and look at the Rothan as a viable raid level ship.

Just found my initial list for the campaign I am curently in. with points costs

1 Bin'Tak - 2
1 G'Quan - 1
1 G'Lan - 1
1 Rothan 2 Ka'Toc - 1
1 Rothan 2 Ka'Toc - 1
1 T'Loth 2 Ka'Toc - 1
1 Rothan 2 Sho'Kar - 1
1 Rongoth 2 Thentus - 1
4 Cutters - 1

I actually bulked out quite a lot of raid ships as well as skirmish. since this, I have lost 1 Rothan 2 ka'tocs, 2 Sho'Kar, and 2 cutters. have bought 2 Ka'Tans, a Rothan, a Dag'Kar and have 43 RR to spend on some other stuff :-) I can't buy a G'Vrahn until turn 8 when we phase in armageddon ships.

Your crusade EA list should really include a Delphi

As a personal Id take more marathons, and ditch the poseidon & nemesis. Replace the Nemesis its panse!!! bring in an avenger for the posiedon, give yourself more ships.

Look carefully at the rules about buying new ships- generally the lower level ships are proportionately MORE expensive resource point to priority level then bigger ships.

Getting alot of raid and lower ships might be a more effective strategy; the big boys can be built with new construction later.

---

Point out your fleet in replacement resource point cost; and then reduce your big ships one priority level and check again.

thanks for the centauri pointer ill have a look into that one! on the Minbari i have yet to play a campaign but i can find little to make me want to change this list..... though a question do you have to have minatures for all of them for example - say i have three Neshantan and i only want to use one in this battle would i really need to have three miniatures? or should i just make sure that if i want to use the extra ones to make sure i got the ships for them when the battle comes.
