Buffy the Barbarian?

Im a big fan of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series, and I have been thinking about getting a D20 conversion together for some time now.

I was just thinking, is it me, or does it seem like the magic system in Conan would work well with the Buffy setting?

Magic seems to be treated in Buffy in much the same way as in Conan.

Willow slowly became a magic-junky after using more powerful and profane spells more often, and eventually turned into a monster.

Am I crazy, or what?

Not crazy, I'd think. Looney , maybe?

lol

Nah...do what you like. Massive damage to slay vamps seems reasonable.

But do bear in mind that most of your work has already been done for you here.

Okay. Wasn't sure. It sounded like you were just wanting a Buffy RPG, so I thought I'd steer you to the pre-existing one. 8)

Frankly, rather than Conan, I'd recommend the Call of Cthulhu D20 RPG by Wizards. It's just the one book, and it gives a nice framework for low level magic and psychic powers tat is easily expanded on, and it already has modern firearm rules and mechanics for fear and sanity that reflect the show's themes.

I think it's out of print, but you can order it new and used from Amazon. Check it out here.

Sadly, I know nothing about Eden's ruleset. I hear it is simpler than d20. :D
Corruption checks with magic-use in a theoretical Buffy d20 system seem very appropriate, IMHO.
Scorpion, I pm'ed you.
