Brain Bug Question

Hello everyone ,
A quick question .....
With the brain bugs psychic power of ( ithink its rupture) where the bug chooses a single figure on the gameboard , and attempts to implode its head....can that target be inside a chickenhawk/dropship or inside a bunker and still be legitimate. or does the bug have to have line of sight .
This is quite a powerfull and very deadly attribute and i personally want to know the limits of this attribute .
cus its really hacking me off.

It's deadly yes, but I begin prefer Ego War and Enhanced Distract (4 dice missing can prove really ugly in reactions).

Yep any enemy figure on the board. No line of sight required. It is very powerful. However, 1 bad roll and the brain is dead.

Unless of course the brain is tunnelling, then it cannot target enemies on the surface. Overall an excellent power for MI, makes it easy to fry brains, or at least target them.

? You can't have rupture with MI...And enchanced rupture makes it pretty safe for brain to use it. Unless it's using it to torch LAMI's that is :lol:

In that case they are paying more for their trooppers and missing lots of options :lol:

Myself I would rather go for army book version MI rupture is riskier bet anyway than arachnid rupture as MI psychers have less hits to soak failed attempts.

Of course I can't, but chances for damage are almost equal even at enchanced rupture, bugs have to pay a 5-strong warrior squad for it, and most importantly Brain is surfaced and vulnerable to use the power at all - usually it's very easy to send a reserve squad of LAMIs and slay the creature in one turn, even at enchanced shield ^^
This is why I enjoy this power so much ^_^

I remember quite fondly a game between L-Bug, PetitBilbo and myself.

Up comes the Brain Bug, tries to rupture a Lieutenant (Mi rolls a 10, Bugsie rolls a 2 - just do the math).

It had been some time since we laughed like we did that night.

Don't remember if it was enhanced or not though, but in the end he took those 8 hits.

Rupture is lethal, effects everything on the surface (so nothing moving in the air phase or tunneling as stated) Nor if the brain bug himself is tunneling.
But, if the brain uses rupture, then you know where he is, so even if he ruptures your marauder LT he's still going to lose a very expensive brain next turn and then face a turn with only one action per unit.
I love rupture...... lets you know which bug hole to annihilate
If an opponent keeps doing it, buy a skinnie advisor and attach him to an MI unit with a nuke.
As soon as the brain emerges and ruptures....... next turn reveal your ambush, jump in and nuke him
