I've only justy realised I've got the 1st Edition of this book and that a 2nd Edition is available.

I've looked on the Mg website for it but it is only available as an e-book.

When will it appear in print?

I can tell you they're very different.. so that is a yes. Also the consolidated weapons chart is nice.

Different as in "Book 2 replaces Book 1" or "Book 2 expands Book 1"?

Replaces...

I wonder if they'll replace them for those of us who have 'em, or will just do the 2300 AD thing and give PDFs?

Good luck on the former!

With regard to the latter I think Mongoose might argue that it's a re write and not simply an errata/corrections and is seen as a completely new book to be purchased (separately).

Though maybe Matt could offer the definitive word on the subject?

If there really was so much changed than asking for a free copy is a bit much. A small rebate would be more appropriate.

It's worth reviewing these threads:

Which I found by searching thru Matt's posts with Mercenary in them: http://forum.mongoosepublishing.com/search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&author_id=4

Hope the links all work!

It was very good to see Mongoose asking the forums for what we wanted to see. There were similar threads over at CotI
