Boarding XP

In a campaign game, if more than one ship declares "Launch Breaching Pods and Shuttles!" against the same target and the boarding is successful, which ship gets the XP? Or are they divided up between the ships which contributed to the boarding action?

(Presumably you can have more than one ship declare "Launch Breaching Pods and Shuttles!" against the same target. :D)

No, I meant boarding with troops. I had thought that if the ship is captured, it earns points as if it had surrendered, but checking the small print, maybe it only earns double VP's, not XP's.

But what if it is the boarding troops who kill enough crew to take it to skeleton crew, or who roll a 6, do a critical hit which scores bonus damage, and thus cripple the ship?

Basically, what you're saying is that boarding a ship earns no XP's, so doing it in a campaign is a bad idea if you want upgrades for your ships...

Yeah capturing a ship only earns you VP, not XP. But good point about reducing to skeletoned or crippled...

You could always roll separately for each attacking ship's troops. If the defenders kill some, roll to randomly determine which are killed.

If reducing a ship to 0 crew counts as destroying for VPs, then surely it should count as destroying for XPs.

Personally I would split the XP between both ships.
