The co-ax barrel is far too big on the Abrams. It looks like a drain pipe sticking out of the turret...

Well, if we compare the M1A2 TUSK from BF:Ev with an actual M1A2 TUSK...

You can barely see the co-ax in the second photo, but judging by the curve of the barrel we can see it's a lot slimmer than the model shows. It also shouldn't be black...

What's this TUSK business, anyway? Another upgrade for the Abrams?

The Tank Urban Survival Kit, or TUSK, is a series of improvements to the M1A2 Abrams intended to improve fighting ability in urban environments. Historically, urban and other close battlefields have been the worst place for tanks to fight as the design of all Main Battle Tanks of the 3rd generation had to maximize the balance between armor/weight/mobility; and as a result the front armor is much stronger than that on the sides, top, or rear. However, in an urban environment, attacks can come from any direction, and attackers can get close enough to reliably hit weak points in the MBT's armor, or get sufficient elevation to hit the top armor square on.

Armor upgrades include reactive armor on the sides of the tank and slat armor (similar to that on the Stryker) on the rear to protect against rocket-propelled grenades and other shaped charge warheads.

This upgrade also includes reactive armor or explosive reactive armour (ERA), to be applied on the Abrams' side skirts, to lessen the damage from explosions caused from ATGMs warheads, exploding shells, grenades, or dropped bombs.

A gun shield and a thermal sight system are added to the loader's top-mounted 7.62 mm machine gun, and the mount for commander's .50-caliber heavy machine gun is modified to allow the weapon to be operated from within the turret with the hatch closed (the original M1 and M1A1 had this capability, but it was lost on the M1A2 due to the reconfiguration of several turret systems). An exterior telephone allows supporting infantry to communicate with the tank commander.

The TUSK system is a field-installable kit that allows tanks to be upgraded without needing to be recalled to a maintenance depot.

Interesting. You know the barrel shouldn't be black but you don't know about TUSK...tell me, what else can you foretell about 2015?

Wow. Sounds cool.

well, while the tanks are very "meh", lacking details(the T-99 and Challanger aren't all that bad, but abrams is a tragedy, it has no details save for the frontlights-no metalic parts(even small scratchmarks would do), the things on the cargo "net" are indisingusihable from the main hull in colours, and there is no glass/visor detail on the cupola.
the infantry, especially on the close-ups is far better, with nice camo, some sweet details on guns and generally looka lot beter

Woohoo! And we now even have a date to aim at... 22nd of January... *Really hopes that any preorders made by a store in Finland will get their swag in time* Excellent stuff... I think the tanks look to be about the right size... Will have to stick a chariotbase (Not to be mistaken for a ChariotBugbase...) under them to elevate them to the proper level with the footsloggers...

Gahh... cant wait 12 weeks... thats just mean...

Might I propose that the tanks give you the chance to customize them your way? As in personalizing them in a fashion of your choosing? Find 28mm scaled gas cans and chains, and other general and misc. stuff for your tank. Maybe paint in the visors, or even paint on different unit markings.

i wouldnt taint myself with using the modern facist state of american infadels lol.

il be using europe, im gonna paint my russian stuff up as UN pease keepers probably.
