Today we have posted the Battlefield Evolution Developer's Pack. Complete with System Reference Document, licence and logos, this pack contains everything you need to produce rules, supplements, additions and even miniatures for Battlefield Evolution, be it on a commercial or non-commercial basis.

Aside from the absolute core rules, almost anything in the pack can be tweaked or added to. For example, you could create;

* New army lists for World at War or Modern Combat
* A complete game based on Colonial warfare. . . or Vietnam, Korea, Samurai, the Falklands. . . or anything else you might imagine
* More detailed air combat rules for real Prop Heads!
* New units for existing army lists
* Battles/scenarios based on real world historical events
* Or just about any other addition, game or setting you can think of!

As said above, you can use the Developer's Pack to produce your own rules for your own enjoyment - or you could use it to produce commercial products. If you are thinking about PDF-based supplements, we would humbly point you to our friends at Wargame Vault (http://www.wargamevault.com/), whom we regard as the best in the business at selling PDF-based games.

I noticed that the scarL and M320 underslung grenade launcher are in the us army armoury but not in any of their units. Is that for a future expansion ? I have WaW but not MC yet. Also it says the M16A4 for the Marines but the unit lists say the M4.

Are there any legal concerns if I use pictures of AT-43 minis (or other "big name" mini lines for that matter) in a BF:Evo supplement written for profit, so long as I'm not trying to recreate the full AT-43 game?

For us, no, but I think Rackham might have a thing or two to say about it!

Let me clarify the initial inquiry a bit. Does it matter if the pics are in game/tabletop photos vs. stats? I wasn't planning on specific stats/units with them, but not sure if "in game" photos with terrain/minis are a grey area where they are allowed.

e.g. Were the manufacturers contacted for the tabletop pics in MC, W@W and Apocalypse-Z or just assuming the mom and pop shops want the exposure/recommendations for business?

I can only speak for my books - yes every manufacturer was contacted, permission asked etc. Every pic used gets properly credited etc.
But as Matt said this questions can not be answered by him. You have to contact the manufacturer (or the IP holder) before doing anything for profit! There are lawyers out there that are just waiting for something like this!
To be honest I seriously doubt that Rackham will give you any permission...

Maybe drop Ground Zero Games and ask them about their expierences in such a regard? the Full Thrust and Dirtside rulebooks have photos of other manafacturer's minis in them.
