Best way to straighten the EFTF Warrior's gun?

The traditional method for straightening plastic is to dip in boiling water, straighten and then plunge into cold water. It certainly works on softer plastic figures, such as D&D/SWM, and should be fine for the weapons on these.

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

just use warm water LBH to bend itunder then run the cold tap over it.

i also has to put a small dab of super glue under the main gun as it keptdrooping on its swivily bit.

its not a barrel either its as far as i know just for cutting wires so troops ontop dont get garroted.

Anything that's going to fix them has to involve heat. Go for evil's method first, at worst it won't work and you have to use hotter water. (It should work though).
If you start with boiling water there's no going back :)
You never know, boiling water may affect these plastics more than they do the more 'rubbery' ones.

i just warmed minw up with my thingers and bent it up a tad, it showed a little stress so a little more warmth would have been better.

The problem with using lukewarm water is that the mini might bend back after a while, or so I hear. I have only experience with boiling (ca. 30 seconds), then plunging into almost icy water, and the minis I've cooked have stayed straight and aren't flaking paint. Weren't BFE minis tho.

I'll maybe try the hot water this weekend if I get time, or I'll just leave it to add character

You might be right Evil. Every photo on the Mongoose sight has the aforementioned appendage still bent, and no picture I can see of a real life warrior has the appendage, bent or otherwise.

ALso, looking more closely at the packaging I see no reason that the packaging would have bent the thing so. Though there were mutterings at Mongoose on Saturday that it was the packaging, though I may have misheard.

Anyone prove me wrong?

ALso, I looked again at the Warrior stats tonight, I'm happier with it now, 2*d10 on the mian gun, still, not really much use against tanks, but then that's what Challengers are for.

ANy idea if Mongoose will make the Warrior available without the Command Unit? Only one Command Unit per 2000 points, I see myself needing a lot less of those than I do Warriors.

there was talk of in the future stuff being rpacaged, but at the moment its about getting different types out as they can in next few waves.

yes you whant a warrior, but at £20 with a comand unit thats a great way to get a comand unit, but if comand unit was done seperatly with its own box it wouldnt be economical or it would be way over priced. maybe in the future if the game takes of (cant see whay not) there maybe 2 comand sections in a box and a single warrior in a seperate box, total cost for the 2 would be £35 rather than just £20 if it was done this way then the price would flash against warrior comand unit boxset price.

ok not exsplaining it well.

if comand unit was say £15 for 2 comand squads and warriors were £15 each, then a comand squad and 3 warriors would cost you £60 pacaged as they are 3 warriors would cost £60 and you would have 3 comand squads so not so bad when you look at it that way IMHO.

Yeah, but I see far more use for multiple warriors than multiple command squads. So if they continue to offer Warrior + command squad, and then do a seperate pack of one (or even two if they fit in the box) Warriors as well, you can bulk up your transport assets without getting superflous command units.

true but its very early days

the idea at the mo is get as much out per wave as they can.

its not costing you any more over 3 warriors (unless you theme it you wont need any more) and comand squads surplus figs would make good leaders for other units.

when you do the maths its not so bad, ie from a logic point its ok from a passion point of view there is a problem.

i wont need more than 3 warriors i feel, so wont effect me.

yeah, I'm not saying that Mongoose should be doing this as a priority, but down the line I'd like to be able to bulk up my transports without gainign superflous foot sloggers.

Don't get me Wrong, for what you physically get in the box, £20 for a Command Unit and a Warrior is good, you get a vehicle which would likely be £15, and 3 figs, which is more than a £5 worth pro rata on the Brit EFTF infantry box.

BUT in using in the game terms it's not such good value, you can only field one command unit per 2000 points or part thereof, whereas, even under the advanced rules peeks Lorcan has told us about, you can field a Warrior per squad. And it's not like you can even form a normal squad from the minis because you have no Minimis or UGLs in the mix.

I assume Mongoose will release Warrior solo or duo packs along the line, I'm just making sure they know we want it.
