Played a game of Gangs last night against one of my most frugal opponents and decided to challenge to The Raid. He had a lot of cash and if I had won I would have snagged about 25,000 creds. (Not a bad payday.) The punk I chose had a res. increase and Heroic Rush, as well as smoke grenades and pad armour. I thought he was about as good as he needed to be. (Alas!) I used his Heroic Rush first turn and put as much distance between him and the other gang as possible. Then he got shot and saved on a 6+ (Unlikley!) And managed to dodge the rest of the bullets in that turn. Moving twice he escaped into the full cover of a large wall. The enemy closed in without getting a single shot in. I was now in range of my boss who had Loud Voice and so closed the gap with a Werewolf and the bosses Robo-Dog. Putting these models in direct line of sight of the enemy shooters. The chosen punk moved ever closer to my table edge and in two turns would have exited, assuring me the win and a butt-load of greenbacks! The enemy shooters wasted no time and dispatched my Werewolf, wounded my Robo-Dog and as a last ditch effort threw a Quake grenade over the intervening wall, the grenade strayed 2 inches and failed to hit. So, burning his only contact my opponent chose to minus 1" from the stray, thereby hitting my dude. And (as usual) with a hit from a Quake Grenade killed my guy outright. 12...Dead...
Still, one of the most die-namic games in a long time!
How about you fanboy? Any amazing tales of Derring-Doo? Tell us about it!
