I will be ABSOLUTELY honest, I am NOT fussed by BFE at all. I've seen the mini's in the flesh and they are really poor (floppy barrels and all).

I know its a REAL shock to everybody who called me a fanboy, but its true!

Well shoot man - then come on back over to the RQ forum then.

I did say the new ones were better (Alot better), but they're both still well short of the original claims, and returning players should probably be informed of that before they look at the pictures and get disheartend.
Plus I dont think anyones seen the wave 3 figs in person outside of a few 'goosers, so its a bit difficult for anyone here to draw any conclusions on overal quality as of yet surely?

I think the computerised clothing is rather good on them personally, its nothing like the 100% accurate camouflage claim, but its neat and on the right areas of the model, its the rest ofthe job that falls short.
Tneva I was wondering, in person do the paints blend together a lil better? On the pictures you can easily see which parts are the base layer and which are the details added by hand which I think raws a bit of attention to the problems when they do occur on a fig, is it just the size of the photos?
Max, I've just received my preordered SAS, and they are VERY nice.

I just unpacked my wave 2 models the other day and I'd say they were painted very nicely. There are no hint of "googly eyes" as the details are more discriminating. The few figures that were tilted were corrected fairly quickly. One thing that I'll change is that on the Warriors there are two whip antennas that are stiff plastic and could break off easily. What I'm going to do is to find a vinyl brush with coarse, long bristles and use them as flexible antennas. It's what was done by Corgi on the die-cast vehicles I've collected, and I like the idea. It also makes them easier to store as the 2-1/2" length is a bit tall. I could leave them off of course (a good rules-lawyer tactic with these rules-as-written, lol), but I want the models to look complete. Besides, they look cool.

I saw the Wave 2/3 stuff and Wave 1 stuff in person at Salute and I said to my sister "Crikey, I swear these guys want to murder my wallet."

Wave 1 may not have been as good as hoped but the new models are excellent, I may not have brought any at Salute but they sure as hell restored my confidence in prepaints.

When my wallet is 'safer' and recovered after Bring and buy at Salute, I'll have the SAS on the way, some normal Brit infantry, a warrior and platoon officers, and a whole bundle of Middle Eastern infantry.

These models definately have a market for men who like modern outline models for display and I can safely say for my Grandfathers next birthday the Warrior and platoon command will be a gift for him.
