I prefer the original.
For those that don't know, the TV show is sort of based on the movie(s).
The movie(s) are a terrible rip-off of the book(s).
The book(s), written by Andre Norton, are Sci-Fi.
The Beastmaster is a Terran Apache descendant with the psionic ability to link with animals. He is retired from his days as a military special ops - Beastmaster sabatoge team, and has his team with him. A big cat (forgot if it's lion, tiger, or what.), an african eagle, and a pair of meerkats (not stinking ferrets!). Funny how they mangled and reincorporated scenes from the book, even the bit with the dying meerkat and the newly born kits.
Just me complaining. I was so jazzed to see a sci-fi movie set in a well developed universe, and I got a B fantasy flick instead. The hollywood stuff is ok, but I don't think it's anywhere near as good as the original.
