That is all it would take. As you know the raptor has an FTL drive. The raptor on the Moon is fully fueled and has the coordinates for the 12 colonies in its Jump Computer. NASA has a rocket that could reach the Moon, the SLS with the Orion Capsule.

It could be launched as Early as 2018.

NASA would need a Moon lander of course and some astronauts. I think a cover like the one of ths fictional National Geographic might stimulate the development of such a vehicle.
Assume the Raptor's FTL drive has been uprated with more efficient Cylon Technology, so it is capable of making longer jumps than in the series, all the way back to Caprica.

So what if, how would NASA handle this. Assume the National Geographic Issue was dated in 2015, and the picture was taken by a Lunar reconnaissance orbiter.

Shows up fine on my browser. Just to clue you in, its an image of a fictional National Geographic magazine cover. It shows a top down view of a BSG Raptor sitting on the surface of the Moon. The caption reads:

Celestial Chariot?
The startling discovery that has
scientists scratching their heads. 52

Von Daniken gloats 83
Flamingo graveyard 120
Coffee Chain Vanishes 140
Mitochondrial Eve 34 (As if we care after finding a flippin spaceship)

It's a Flash Gordan retro ship. Does it take off in a spiral pattern with sparks from the exhaust port?
