There are a number of spells in Cults of Glorantha that are battle orientated but don’t have any clear game mechanic influence within the Mass Warfare rules within Legendary Heroes.
So here is a stab at giving some the battle orientated spells a Mass Warfare effect. All the Magnitude and spell stats stay the same.
Command Troops.
After being cast the next Battle Action the Commander gives that requires a Command test automatically succeeds.
Rally Troops
The unit commanders troops Morale is increased by his Lore (Specific Theology).
Morale
Works as in the book, as the boost to weapon skill will increase both Morale and the fighting effectiveness of the troops.
Battle Song
Due the amount of time he will have to play the caster has to make a resilience roll each battle turn to continue playing the magicaly rousing tune.
Also my NPC generator now also does battle sheets for the Mass Warfare rules. Which got me thinking about these spells effects in the first place.
