Did two quick games against my mate Vinny's raiders last night as my latest fleet, Dilgar.
first one was an ambush, with the Raiders doing the ambushing. Fleet was a Battlewagon and a metric ton of fighters vs three Targrath, two Ochlavita, a Jashakar and two wings of Thorun. We put a lot of stellar debris on the table, all asteroids
the furst turn was quite brutal, with the Jashakar and a Thorun both going up to massed fire. Their explosions managed to thin a good third of the raider fighters though. On the second turn one of the Jashakar was able to draw a bead to the Battlewagon while the other two wheeled around and the surviving Ochlavita headed into an asteroid field to bear on the Battlewagon on the following turn. the Thorun went after the fighters the Battlewagon launched on the first turn, using their speed to keep them from being mobbed by the remainign Raider fighters. This time the carnage was more Dilgar-friendly, with the Battlewagon taking about 50% damage, and a few more fighters being destroyed.
On turn three the remaining Raider fighters jumped the surviving Ochlavita, destroying it handily. Two of the targrath managed to kill the Battlewagon though. After this the fight descended into a game of hunt the fighters, the surviving raiders managing to claim all the Thorum but not harming the targrath at all before they died.
the second game was a blockade run, with my Two Targrath facing off against two Battlewagons, three Abbai patrol ships, a modified freighter and a shedload of fighters. Naturally I ran down one side of the board, and there was only one turn of fire, in which one Targrath destroyed an Abbai patrol ship, and the other did a small amount of damage to a Battlewagon. Amazingly the Raiders managed to kill one of the Targrath, but couldn't stop the other one escaping.
