Basic turning

If I chose not to move a ship, can I turn in place?
If my movement is zero, then half of that is zero, so I go zero inches, turn and then follow up with zero inches...?

Can I sit a battleship at long range and just pivot around in a few turns to get broadside?

Do I have to move forward at all?

Well the rules state that you must move at least 1" each turn, so, though you can creep across the board, you can not just sit and spin.

Aha, does it?
Can you point me to it, cos I missed it last night. Mind you it was late....and I was losing.

Page 5. First paragraph, second sentence, under the title Moving Ships reads:

"Unless the ship has had its Speed reduced to zero due to damage, it must move at least one inch."

Then if you glance down to the third paragraph, first two sentences of the same section, it reads:

"A ship may only turn once in each Movement Phase and it can only do so when it has moved at least half its Speed in a straight line. This means no ship can simply turn on the spot..."

Hope this helps.

yep, that sort of sums it up

It's amazing how befuddled the brain gets after a few pints of HSB and a few turns of watching your battleship slowly sinking..

Playing wings of war tonight anyhow, I'm better in the air!

it's a superb game, so simple and so much fun. No dice, no note keeping and great pre painted minis.
I won both games!

So I'm going to try to repeat this success in a fortnight when my RN fleet returns to fight the KM...
