Base Confusion

I'm new to ACTA, but a long time B5 Wars gamer. I've got a bunch of B5 Wars ships that I want to rebase to match any new ones I buy from Mongoose. I bought a Darkner and a Maximus from Mongoose to check scale against the ships I already have.

My problem is the bases. According to the Official Base Sizes PDF I downloaded from Mongoose's Web Site, the Darkner and Maximus are supposed to be based on large bases, but the bases supplied with the miniature are the small bases. Which is correct?

I just asked about bases too, and apparently the base does not matter, nor does the size or shape of the base. As long as it keeps the ship supported during the game it sounds like it is fair game

They may be official, but they are not mandatory, only recommended. As you've seen, even Mongoose don't stick to them...

All measurements are taken from the stem of a mini, or the centre spot of a counter, anyway.

I tend to use the smaller bases available nowdays as once the furball starts it matters. At least around here, espcially with all the fighters trying to do the fire first thing. Since you cannot land on an aux craft they can effectively force movement if you base is too big.
