Babylon 5 War Without End

I was looking through the S&P archives, and I found an article mentioning a 10mm ground combat game for Babylon 5. I searched this forum, and couldn't find anything about it. What's up?

On a totally different topic, since I'm new to A Call to Arms, I was wondering how well the game follows the series in terms of the race 'hierarchy.'

Its been put on the back burner indefinitely. The release of Battlefield Evolution and the upcoming 2nd editions of ACTA and Starship Troopers have meant they haven't gotten the time to develope it further.

The game tries hard at "getting the feeling" right for the Race your representing.
It does this well in the current edition and the next edition is increasing the authentic feel.

Well if by heirarchy you man how powerful the races are relative to each other Id say it does a fairly good job.

If you take a 5 point raid fleet from one race vs another chances are you will have a reasonably fair fight but ships are costed accordinly. For example in that 5 point Raid You could only have 1 Minbari Sharlin warcruiser and a small escort ship whereas you could have 2 Narn G'Quan heavy cruisers and a smaller ship for the same cost (or two Centauri Primus and an escort ship or 2 Earth Alliance Omega destroyers and a Hyperion heavy cruiser) or TEN Drazi warbirds. By contrast it costs as much as 2 Sharlins to get a single Shadowship or Vorlon heavy cruiser.

A vorlon TRANSPORT is equal in cost to an EA hyperion heavy cruiser or a whitestar!

It's not perfect at the moment by any means and the lists need a bit of fine tuning and adjusting most people feel (I think) but its getting there :D And with 2nd edition coming soon things are looking hopeful for ACTA :D

Thanks guys. You've both answered my questions perfectly. When will
2nd ed. come out?

I believe in August. But i wouldn't be suprised if that gets delayed due to the vast amount of work involved.
There settings themselves a very high standard to achieve in the 2nd Edit.

In our experince, we would list the fleets as such

1. Minbari
2. Centari
3= Earth
3= Narn
5. League

Special place for the Vorlons and Shadows, they are very powerful with a player who knows what they are doing, can be very weak against a player who knows his fleet well and understands the weaknesses of the Shadows and Vorlons.

Whilst this is the general ranking, its quite possible for an experienced player to win using any fleet against any other....

Not sure about them to be honest, we haven't used them that often as they only have a couple of ships (we are playing SFoS not armagedon) I would probably class them in the same catagory as the Vorlons and Shadows, needs someone who knows how to use them well to work, but weak if your opponent knows your weaknesses (mind thats from maybe 2 or 3 games playing, the rest of the fleets we have used 30-100 times each)
