And if i may say so I for one am greatly displeased by the high-handed action of disbanding the group without any discussion... maybe Jay say it as redundant, I for one did not... Any other Conan d20 Mailing Lists out there?

And I hope no-one ever wants to look up an idea from an old message...

If the list owner didn't want to be bothered with it anymore I'm sure someone could have been found to take over list management... I manage a couple of Yahoo groups myself.

There's conan_d20_rpg which is another yahoogroup. Right now though it's essentially zero traffic.

That seems like an immature thing to do by the admin. Because Yahoo groups can be handed over to someone else. This was done on a group I'm in, where the admin didn't have the time.

He could just have asked if there was anyone else that wanted to take over.

The only other Conan discussion group I've seen is at http://hyboria.xoth.net

They had some good homebrew d20 rules, though they're switching over whole-heartedly to Mongoose's ruleset now.

UH OH, I hope I didn't piss the Admin off with my Blasphemous(Not sure how to spell that) Talks of playing the Conan RPG in a world based on the movie

I'm on...was on the list too, and I think it was more a case of thoughtlessness than anything else. Not malicious, just stupid.

Ah, well.

It takes all of 5 minutes to start up a Yahoo group, and it requires no maintenance. I can set it up, if people still want one.

I went ahead and recreated it. Here's the link. I'll dress up the page a little nicer tonight...

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ConanD20/

I've only got about 5 people signed up for the group. If anyone knows any of the original folks from the old group, send em over!

I am an old member of the d20Conan group and I am waiting to be accepted in your group.

As a matter of fact, I had just about all of it in a file on my PC (my work PC, no less!). So I put them back up there.

Because if it wasn't members only, anyone could come in there and spam the group, delete files, add files, etc. Granted, a member could do this, as well. But that member can be kicked as soon as he does. And typically, spammers and jerks won't go through the hassle of joining just to cause trouble.
