Ambush Attacker Move

Hi all! In the Ambush Scenario, is the Attackers "free turn" at the beginning of the game considered the first turn or is "pre-first turn".

I only ask due to one side or the other having scouts for a re-roll of the first turn initiative. If this "free turn" counts as the first turn, then there is no rolling of initiative and therefore no re-rolling. If its not the first turn, then the Attacker gets his “free turn” then we roll for initiative for the official first turn, correct?

I thought the attacker went first on every turn in Ambush? hang on..
hmm, not sure why i thought that then.

a free turn is exactly what it states, free, as stated, the defender cannot do anything in that turn, therfore there would be no rolling for initiative in that "free" phase, then the next turn, the game starts proper, and your scouts should in theory be used for a re-roll.
