Amazon Leaks

Mongoose
Hi All,

Okay it would seem that Mongoose has accidentally leaked yet another product title to Amazon, we now have an advert (with art) for Runequest:Quests, I will bite, what is this??

Isn't it about time products were discussed on the forums and mongoose news pages first? Then again one of these days I expect to stumble across my autobiography on Amazon and not have a clue about it!

Actually, it should be listed next week. I'm just about to start writing it for you. :)

Amazon have a tendency to list items based on the flimsiest of information, so it's being a bit hard on Mongoose to demand that they publicise stuff that's been "outed" in such an unreliable way. They're damned if they do (for touting vapourware) and damned if they don't, really.

Jim Crace, for instance, has this listing for a book he has not written, is not writing, and will never write, based on someone's misunderstanding of something he said in an interview about his work in progress. He's ordered it himself. It has 9 reviews..

Interesting that Quests has a cover image though.

A lot of companies have this problem. I've seen White Wolf books I wasn't yet contracted for writing, listed as being written by someone else and with a release date far beyond the realms of possibility.

S'one of those things.

Note also that just because Amazon lists it doesn't mean that has anything to do with the company's production schedule or their desire to announce product at a certain date. Why would they want to hype something that might not be released for months and months when there're several books out before that need the news space? Or what if it's a minor release that doesn't warrant more than an announcement upon release?

Has there been a massive flood in South America?

Is there somewhere I can donate money?

There's this homeless guy in Liverpool who looks like Santa, only beaten up, older and like he's lived on the streets for half his life, which may very well be true. He bites a harmonica between his teeth, wheezing into it for hours on end. Sometimes he accompanies this sonic sensation by playing silent guitar on a badminton racket and performing what could generously be called a 'dance'.

Donate to him.

Steer clear of him. He's waiting for the punks who killed his brother to come by. When that happens, you don't want to be in the area.

"Looks like we're shy one horse...."

And here is another book that Amazon knows of, but Mongoose not:

http://www.amazon.com/RuneQuest-RuneLords/dp/1905471688/sr=1-63/qid=1165610483/ref=sr_1_63/103-0300581-9138246?ie=UTF8&s=books

For me it looks like a working title for "Legendary Heroes".
