Alternate Earth in B5

Check out Arthur Scott Card's Ender's Shadow series (especially the last two) for some possible historical info. In it it has a Caliphate rising to power and only stopping global conquest because the rulers were too stupid to follow the proven general's lead, and they turned on him when he became too forgiving of non-Muslims.

Very nice idea newmarduk and well thought out too

Of course apart from pure Caliphate based adventures you could run a sort of crossover campaign, especially if your players are anywhere near the Great Machine: -

1. The players misjump into the Caliphate universe - how are they received? As a threat or a wonderful new opportunity for the Caliphate to expand? :shock:

2. The players are caught in a time storm and suddenly find their universe is gone and Caliphate exists in its place. Are they stuck forever or is there a way to put things right (with help from Draal perhaps)? And if they can put things "right" should they? Is the Caliphate an improvement on what was before? There could be some very good roleplaying potential here especially if they have made good friends in the new universe.

3. The universe of the Caliphrate represents order and structure. Have the Vorlons now won? Are they the ones the behind it's rise to power and will now reap the benefits as its growth eclipses all the other star empires. And what of the Shadows, are they fighting back? Perhaps they support any rebel groups that oppose the Caliphrate or maybe there religious divisions that they can exploit.
Imagine what the rebel players will think when they finally meet their benefactor who has been supplying them with information, weapons and new tech - a certain Mr. Morden :twisted:
Now whose side will they be on?!

I was thinking of use Martian Successor Nadesico as a background for Earth, with Jeffrey Sinclair being taken aboard the Minbari flagship, in some deep space battle (earth high tech level would most like cause far long war)
