Alien vs. Predator RPG

Yautja

Mongoose
Ah Xenomorphs, Colonial Marines, Synthethics, Space Jocks, Yautjas, tell me if that wouldn't make a sweet RPG

I've been running an AvP game with my group for years. You can play Aliens, Predators or humans. Want me to e-mail you my character sheets? they're kinda homebrew RQ.

It's been discussed before, the AvP licence is too expensive.

Although I think that was partly because they wanted to do minis.

good god, why is it so expencive? I mean the first to alien moves where good but the rest stunk.( im still juging AvP2, if it wasnt R)

An rpg would be great, it would sell, and i would love to see it.
Problem was fox wanted to charge mongoose for the aliens and predaor licenses seperately because mongoose wanted to use stuff form all three continuities, and that shot the deal in the head.

Now, an RPG of AVP would be sweet, but since wizkids have the license for the few miniatures they do, this seems unlikely.

Mongoose wanted to do a space hulk style game for AVP, but it was too expensive considering the scale of the game. I think it was mentioned in a signs and portents article that they would have done it for a large mass battle game (which I think personally would have rocked) but it seems unlikely at this stage.

But I r4eally do qwant and would buy an AVP rpg, just avp. You could get around wanting to use stuff from the alien quadrilogy or predator movies by simply leaving in a large armoury, changing stuff, and of course giving rules to modifiy aliens with a bunch of traits, so you can have different speices that appeared in various movies in your game by doing a bit of work so mongoose do not have to pay a license fee.

I want an AVP rpg.

There was an "Alien" RPG back in the early 90's, unlicensed and unofficial. I had my hands on a copy for about a week and can't remember a dang thing about it, other than that it had pictures from the movies and lots of quotes.

I'm pretty sure the studio came down really hard on the people who made it. I can't even find traces of it on the web. Might have been local to the Midwest.

There's a video game RPG lined up for Alien at some point. Wikipedia says SEGA bought the rights to it.

Actually, there was a licensed RPG, and a board game. License was for the two movies then extant: Alien and Aliens, the games had the title Aliens.

Published by Leading Edge Games. Streamlined version of Phoenix Command rules.

License was short term; 2 or three years.

I'm working with my own mod of the runequest rules for an AVP RPG game at the minute. Working on predator stats and equipment first. Need to make them less strong, tone down the equipment a tiny bit and make the predtors quicker

For those of you who want to play AVP till something official comes out check out this websight.

The rules seem quiet simple. And it is all free.
