airplane scale question

so how does 1/1250 hold up to 1/2400 ships scale wise?
strange cargo has some nice planes and i was wondering if theyd look odd with my 1/2400 ships?

1/2400th scale is 1"= 200'. 1/1250th is about 1"= 104', so a 1/1250th plane would be just under twice too big. For Flight markers or something like that they'd look OK (some folks are using 1/600th, and I'm painting up 1/300th because they're what I have lying around) but 1/1250th would be way oversize sitting on a ship's catapult or carrier deck.

GHQ makes several blisters of land-based and sea-based aircraft, and most of their ships with catapults come with planes: they look very nice painted up on a deck but are seriously teeny-tiny.

as long as they are representing aircraft in flight they'll look fine. I use plastic 1/700 models mounted on 1" nails glued to pennies which are then sculpted and, IMHO, they are quite effective.

Tumbling Dice 1/600 aircraft are also a very good option. I base them on a GW flying stand, one aircraft equals a flight.

I bought some of the GHQ planes to try and make 'flights' with them, but they are just too small. Looking at them, I am having a hard time trying to ID the different planes. I am think ing of going with 1/600 scale planes to represent a flight. I also have some aircraft rules that I need planes for and 1/600 will work fine for that as well.

BS

One stop shopping. As I'm going with Navwar ships, I'll get their 1/300 aircraft as well and mount them one per base.
