Aircraft

Does anyone know if there are any 1:2400 Aircraft about, I've only been able to find 1:3000?

Also, in VAS. How are aircraft organised, and are they used on solitary stands. Or are they in multiples, and on single stand. Any sugestion on stands, I just cant see a need to use the ACTA bases as they are way too tall!

Aircraft come in flights of approx. 6, but live and die as a flight. I use 1/700 models on nails and textured bases, which look good with 1/3000 minis (good impression of flight)

I'm think I am going to use 1:2400 (Micronaut), I got one of them delivered yesterday. I ordered a few Navwar 1:300 models, to see if they would do (15 swordfish)

1/300th aircraft are surprisingly large, you would only want one to a base for VaS. On the other hand, 1/3000th are bloody teeny...

GHQ make 1/2400 aircraft including carrier and land-based. BTW the Zeros that came with my 1/2400 Akagi have a wingspan of 3.5mm.

Where, I looked on the website and could not find any?

They are well hidden under the ship enries per nationality.
IIRC under Misc craft...

Basically you are getting the counters...

As DM said, flights are appr. 6 per flight.
If you really want to bother to build flight stands with 6 tiny 1/2400 planes - go ahead.

Personally I am going to use 1/1200 models with one model per stand.
You create a nice forced perspective effect and don't have to paint sooo much.

You got a link?

I might use 1/1200 scale aircraft. I just want to to have a look at my options ;)

I thought it was 4 per flight in VaS? :?

Wulf

4 would make better sense, since it goes with the organisational structures. Most flights were comprised of 2 sections, with 2-3 aircraft in them (per section).

Look under the nationality then under auxilleries, submarines and aircraft for the USN or submarines and aircraft for the IJN.

Ahhh right, but thats for the US ships. I'm collecting the RN and it does not have such a list ;)
