ACTA - Boresights

Boresight beams can only fire at boresighted targets - but the beam weapon rules state that a beam weapon can split AD onto any target within 4 inches of the first. Does this apply to Boresights (if so, can they only split along the line of the boresight, or can they split either side of it)?

The splitting rules say that AD can only be split if both targets are in arc. Since boresight is a (one-dimensional) arc...

Boresight non-beam weapons can be split so long as all targets are boresighted and in range of the weapon.

Boresight beam weapons can be split so long as all targets are boresighted and within 4" of each other and in range of the weapon.

Turret non-beam weapons can be split between any targets in range, in any direction.

Turret beam weapons can be split between any targets in range, in any direction, within 4" of each other (yes that includes one target 2" in front of you, and another 2" behind you!)

Wouldn't it be possible to split fire with a boresight weapon if the shooting ship aligns itself with in such a way that it is on a straight line projected between it's two targets (and both targets are within 4" of each other)?

Yes, if both ships are within 4" of each other and both ships are in the boresight arc(easier said than done) t.

Yes, a Boresight that happens to line up two targets that are also within 4 inches of each other can be split.
