Leprecon is the next Games con in Dublin towards the end of February, and I'm canvassing for numbers on people who'd be interested in attending and playing ActA, and what they'd rather do (tournament, participation game etc)

The con's site is here: http://societies.csc.tcd.ie/~gamers/leprecon/

I'd like to get the game's profile raised in dublin, and I don't think there's enough traffic through the games socities or shops to do it, which leaves cons.

Might come for ACTA - I've got another con at the end of January I'm taking a couple of days holiday for so may not be able to spare the time off...then again I did have a good time at Gaelcon :)

Lorcan, I had a great time at Gaelcon and my EA are out for revenge so if an ACTA tourny was arranged for Leprecon i'd try to get time off work to attend :)

Yeah, I'm definitely up for a tourney at LepreCon - would give me an excuse to build and paint my Dilgar

Gods, that'd mean i'd have to do more painting. And try and work out an even winninger Drakh Fleet.

On the plus side, i could pwn some more at BSG CCG lol

LOL maybe i'll just revert back to my minbari fleet

Excellent - I look forward to taking them apart with my new-improved, minty-fresh Dilgar fleet!

Stealth rolls permitting, of course......

9 posts now Peter, you're really pushing the boat out!

Yup I'll be going with my Centauri again (as always!)

Hmm Tertius and Prefects........

Ack! Nothing but scouts with nerfed stealth and the slightly weaker War Choice (to the old tourney Shadow Ship) and vastly inferior looking model, Hunter to pick from!?

Hmm...time to get me a new fleet...or don't suppose you'd consider running a 1pt Armageddon tourney :)

Just a small query regarding potential tournaments at 1 point armageddon level.

The new armageddon rules are quite specific that when you are breaking down fleet priority levels from the prescribed game level you can split one armageddon point down into 2 war level points but then only one of those war points can be further split to two battle level points and so on. Therefore for 1 armageddon point if you want to include lower level ships your fleet must include at least 1 war level ship and 1 battle level ship.
This causes an issue if say you want to play an early EA fleet at the tournament as you don't technically have any war level ships to field.
Has there been any kind of consensus of opinion among players as to how to handle situations such as this? The two solutions that immediately come to mind are either:-

1) a tournament ruling allowing further splitting of points if no ships are available at the current level, so in the example above since no early EA war level ships exist that player would be allowed to split both war level points down to battle level but then must freeze one point at battle since he then has ships available at that level.

2) simply make the tournament a number of lowel level priority points which are equivalent to 1 point armageddon i.e. 2 point war level or 4 point battle level etc. thereby still giving the players the full option of whatever they choose fleetwise but getting around the above problem.

See this for Armageddon splitting clarification, by Matt. At the bottom of page 1 there is a list of all allowable combos for 1 Armageddon point ;)

http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=21765

You can split your Armageddon point into 6 Raid if you like, then split one of those into 2 Skirmish. Or, split it into 12 Skirmish (12 Sag 4tw!)

Thanks Burger, I read that thread yesterday online and even printed out your excellent list of combos but then i went home last night and read the section of armageddon which deals with this and confused myself all over again :)

But i see now from rereading the thread that the point splitting limitation occurs on the second split and not the first so you can split down from armageddon to battle or raid level before the point splitting limitation applies to further point splits.

Thanks for clearing that up!

Viva Archie Gemmel!!
