Ability score checks

When testing an ability score, do you use the score or the modifier? For example, if I have a character with Intelligence 14 who needs to make a DC20 test, is the roll 14+d20, or is it 2+d20?

Use the modifier. In this case, d20+2.

Thanks mate. That makes the Analyst feat pretty hard to pull off for low to mid level characters. Which is the point I guess. )
