a use for the command omega (random post)

after all the thinking i have found just one use for it - armageddon PL battles. if you split an armageddon point down you can get either 3 battle or a war and 2 battle so take your command omega then as at least its an upgraded omega

anyone else got ideas for using this ship anytime?

The only time I would consider taking one... And even then it doesn't stand a chance against an Octurion, a Bin Tak, ... The list goes on...

Set piece scenarios. it is a major warship, it must be for something, the fact that most players can't find a use for the thing doesn't mean the EA can't.
The fleets we're representing don't know the PL system exists, don't know the rules restrict boresight usefulness- and this is the EA; even what they do know, they aren't always intellectually honest about analysing and applying. Prime example; whoever it was that thought the Nemesis was a good idea.

True, it's about the only time it's even vaguely worth taking and even then in Armageddon PL battles you tend to have other ships with command bonuses and the Omega CC tends to just give away more victory points than every other ship. At least you've tried to make a case for it :?

Except there is no way to randomly generate an Armageddon PL level since the chart was not revised in Armageddon.

But that's only worth it if you think it's worth running the risk of the extra VP your opponent would get for destroying a War level as opposed to a batle level Omega

It might be ok against Drakh when you want a Command Bonus, as I'd be wary of taking a Poseidon in this matchup.

But I like your thinking! In that situation, I'd actually take the command Omega, if only to convert a mini for it.

Actually that is a good way to go.

But that is more due to the fact, that there are few others good war choices.

But even then id be kinda tempted to go for a Poseidon instead.

I did exactly that last Sunday, we played a 1pt Armageddon game
