A Topic With Gravity

Came across this on tumblr. It might interest the world builders here.

How close to the top of the atmosphere is 1 atmospheric pressure on the different gas giants?

I seem to recall that it's still not known if there is a solid mass at the centre of the solar systems GGs, is there an estimate of the G further in?

yep, gas giants have solid cores...Of Metallic Hydrogen. Or at least in theory.

Fun fact: From a point source, gravity scales as 1/r^2
But inside a sphere of uniform density (the type physicists love) gravity scales as r: that is, it is at its maximum at the surface of the sphere.
Now a gas giant isn't really a sphere and isn't of uniform density, but if you squint your eyes real hard it is (that metalic hydrogen is incompressible, right?)
So the gravity at the 1 atmosphere point is probably not far off the highest gravity at any distance r from the center of the body.
