A question about Babeester Gor locations

Hi guys!

When I read about Babeester Gor at the Glorantha Wiki it says:

She lives in her Axe Hall on the Screaming Isle in the Sea of Blood, that collected the Valley of Corpses in the Earth Realm.

my questions are:

Where are the Screaming Isle?
Where is Sea of Blood?
Where is Valley of Corpses?
Where is Earth Realm?

And finally:
Where is Gods World?

Are they all located in the God Plane? Sounds like it.
It does not sound like they are a part of the Inner World.

Please tell me there is a map.... But as this is RQ I guess no map ;)
(I love maps)

/Khamul :)

Yes, that's all a description of where in the Gods Plane she lives. There are some maps of the Gods World in "Arcane Lore", available as a PDF on DriveThru, but they are all very sketchy and vague. Maps of the Gods World aren't really all that much use, getting from one place to another is achived by mythically appropriate actions not just walking in a particular direction. If a worshipper wants to get to Babeester Gor's home, it's easy, most BG heroquests will star there, just do the ritual in a temple and there you are. If an invader wants to attack her hall, then they need to re-enact a myth in which something like that happened.

I think this was the Valley of Healers - Babeester Gor, in one of her finer moments, slaughtered the Healers until the valley was filled with a lake of blood. Eurmal turned the blood into beer and made her so drunk that she passed out, thus saving the remaining healers. I think this was once physically somewhere in, or near, Dragon Pass.

This is probably the Lake of Blood found in the Valley of Healers. Again, once physically in or around Dragon Pass.

Where the Earth Gods and Goddesses rule. Physically between the Spike and Peloria or between the Spike and Dragon Pass. Genert's Garden (Prax and the Wastes) was part of the Earth Realm, as was Esrolia and the sunken lands to the south. Slontos was part of the Earth Realm, I think.

Yes and no.

Yes, because these were places/events in the Gods War and this occurred on the God Plane. So, all of the God World is on the God Plane. In fact the two terms are often used interchangeably.

Many of these places were originally physical places in the world. However, many of them no longer physically exist. Much of the world was broken or flooded or burned or smashed or whatever in the Gods War and this has changed the geography considerably.

However, the nature of Gloranthan myth means that these places still exist in the God Plane. They can still be reached by worshippers or HeroQuestors. To further confuse matters, some places can have different myths for different deities that can be reached by HeroQuestors, so the same physical location might have several different myths. I like to think of each place in the God Plane as being associated with both a physical location and a myth.

There are old maps. I have seen some of them in the past but they are probably out of date. Arcane Lore had a lot of maps of the God Plane, which are interesting. The unpublished Gloranthan Encyclopaedia also had many God Plane maps, but being unpublished they have almost certainly changed.

I haven't seen a map of the Sea of Blood, Valley of Corpses or Screaming Isle.
