A couple rules questions...

Hey everyone,

I just played my 2nd game of CTA last night, my first being a small 2 pt Battle back about 10 months ago. We went all out and did a 5 pt War last night, ISA vs Centauri, and unfortunately didn't have time to finish it up. We did have a couple questions though:

With adaptive armour, does that halve damage agaisnt any bonus damage/crew applied by critical hits. And when applying the damage, say a White Star gets hit by 4 points of damage from a Matter cannon. This damage is treated as a lump sum correct (as it says is SFoS that it is halved against damage froma single weapon system)? So it would only take two points?

Also, concerning the Dodge trait, if a ship with Dodge is hit with a beam weapon, fails its dodge, does it get another dodge roll against subsequent beam hits?

Adaptive applies per weapon system. Include all effects from criticals with it... so, from your example, the damage is 4, and adaptive rounds it down to 2.

You roll for dodge against each beam hit individually. So. if a WS gets hit by a Sulust with rolls of 4-2-3-5 (3 hits), then 1-5-6 (2 more hits), then 2-2 (no hits), you get 5 dodge rolls.

Hope this helps!

Excellent. Thanks for the help guys! I'm hoping to be replaying the game soon (or a couple smaller level games). Things should go pretty smoothly now.
