2nd Wave.

Stonehorse

Mongoose
Sorry if this has already been posted.

Is there any news on when the 2nd wave will be released? I'm thinking of getting into this game, but I'm wanting to avoid the 1st wave models like the plague. Seems non-fantasy wargames are taken off at my local club. Ok this game is set in the near future... but it is still quite close to the present to count I think.

Now I just need to get some more gamers at my local club.

Thanks in Advance.

26th of march according to the website. This is usually the date they're sent to distributors, so they'll be in shops the last week of march/first of April, grace and God willing.

And while you're perfectly within your rights to avoid wave one you may want to reconsider at some point - the minis contained with in do form the backbone units for the US, EU and Chinese armies...

yup, i just took wave one figs to a modle shop and there blown away, so much so i need to pass on an adress to mongoose to contact them as they wish to stock them.

every body whos seen wave 1 around her has gone wow.

so much so if anybody wishes to say they can paint wave one 1k force in faster than 3 days and of a far highter standard, i will buy them an infantry box and a tank of their choice.

why cuz i know it wont happen.

trust me ross its your rank and file, and there better than i could paint them consitantly over 30+modles

as for wave 2 there so prety but then why not as their your special units, you know the type the ones you put that little bit more effort in.

Sorry for being a doofus, but does that mean the starter boxes of infantry and the first tank, for each faction are gonna discontinue?

I, like many, was gonna wait for the 2nd wave of minis, so I could avoid any of the poor ones that were produced in first batch.

Am I gonna have to buy these slightly ropey ones now anyway, or they gonna be a new wave of better ones? :?

My bad, I thought 2nd wave also contained models from the first wave but with better paint jobs than was shown back in January 9the pictures that created a lot of trouble).

I'll try and see some in the flesh before I buy any. Might do the USMC... like their camo the best.

I would be wary with those comments. Somebody out there is probably good enough for that and might even take you up for it

I have seen some damn good painters who seem to be able to paint even faster than I could and since I can paint 66 metal LAMI(without even really pushing it) in 3 days...

Course....is that painting good quality, Evil, or Wave quality? ;)

My painting? No, not good. But as I have said I have seen good painters who ALSO paint faster than I can paint. Some people are just god-like painters

Nah, they're not discontinuing the line, but depending on the volume of minis produced, you may be waiting a while for higher quality figs of Wave 1. I took Wave 2 to mean the actual second wave of minis, the Warrior + command Team, Feyadeen, Technicals, Shadows and the PLA APC.

evil quality x 2 i recon

i paint fast but 30 figs in full dpm in 3 days,, i couldnt do it, but if you can and prove it, then you may have bragging rights to complain about wave 1 figs.

and i mean repaint ip from a black or white undercoaut not just an ink wash or drybrush, evan rob can do that :D

wave 1 figs are the basics, wave 2 is the next release, i think and i hopw the wave 1 figs stay at the standard they are now as it is more than acceptable.

put it like this im about to put AT-43 on ebay and find them figs pug ugly. BF-evo full throttle please.

It used to take me approximately two hours to get a Space Marine squad assembled, painted (with detail), and ready to go. Never flocked because I couldn't do it untill I discovered textured paint....

working for gw i had to build and paint a squad for display cabinet in an hour, but then these were marines and didnt need DPM, ross knows (stonehorse) from first hand i can paint good and fast, but these are past me to do the same with, to many details for a start evan with dpm,

with these it takes 30 seconds to get out of the box and on the game table and they look a darn sight better than any space marine in my opinion. least they have arms conected to their shoulders :D

I'm almost tempted to take up that challenge evil;)
for my own amusement that is, that and the fact that a speedchallenge might get me painting, i'd have to do it with an equivalent mount of figs and tanks from another source tho, since my current "moderns" are all afghanis and russians.. and a platoon of abrams tanks

Something tells me that Evil didn't try to glue the minatures together peoperly..... My marines' arms connected to their shoulders, Evil....

anatomicly i mean

;) silly boy

think thats what i like about BF-evo and SST the people look humanish, while in the distant future of 40k people had weird proprtions more akin to a gorrilla !!!

Well, some of it can be explianed by adaptation to heavier gravities... others, like the Space Marines, can be explained by genetic manipulation.

What happened in the course of a week MrEvil? Just curious if it was seeing the wave2's in the flesh, or having them sitting in you're hand for a while?
