2300AD conversion

I have all the books and sourcebooks of 2300AD GDW.
Now Mongoose is publishing new (and often great) materials based on new rules.
Is there any guidance on how converting old rules to new, or viceversa?
I am aware of Andy Slack's conversion rules but nothing is mentioned on equipment (eg armor or weapons)

Colin Dunn's 2300 for Mongoose has all the stats for weapons and armour. To the best of my knowledge there aren't rules for converting gear that's not listed in the new books.

Gear is gear. Just swop a specific item/gun for the same.
