1500 MI List plus Micro-platforms - are they worth it?

I'm putting together a MI list, and as I have some micro platforms, I was considering including some.

Here's the List

NCO - Chickenhawk w/blizzard pack and Twin fifty. Sniper Skill - 280 points

NCO - no upgrades - 105

Power suit squad - 6 men - corporal, 2 Javelin, Scythe micro support platform - 400

Power suit squad - 5 corporal, 2x triple thud - 270

Power Suit - 6 - 2 x triple thud, spitball launcher micro platform - 270

CHAS - 175

I was considering using the javelin squad as a firebase, hitting tankers, marauders, anything large. The squads then split, one on one flank, one on the other supported by the Chas and Chickenhawk respectively. They have enough firepower to rip a hole in stuff.

What do people think? Is including micro platforms a bad idea?

It depends on the weapon you're using. Effectively, you can have a trooper with a pack weapon stand next to the one manning the microsupport platform, and after they fire their weapons, the pack weapon one can turn and load for the one using the microsupport platform, allowing you to continue firing.

A bug broom (or is it the other one?) On a micro platform is pretty scary.
Give the sergeant protagonist and drop the unit in (capsules).
Next turn, set it up with a ready and fire it (protagonist). You can wipe out a huge number of points.

What about the 50cal defense platform made from the Forgeworld piece that was featured in Sign and Portents? Izzat any good?

I think there's a major problem with reliants and any fixed asset in SST.
Basically, they are worthless, any bug player with half a brain will simply place a tunnel entrance under the emplacement, rendering it useless
1) The tunnel exit is size 4 so you can block it's line of sight completely
2) No one will man it in case it is charged.
3) Even if you leave it alone, it can't move and will be tunneled under by turn two anyway.
fixed weapons just let you know where the MI will be standing, the other problem is control bugs, you should see what a bug broom does to MI when you capture a trooper :)

I think it's a rules issue, it's 60 points for a bog standard reliant with twin 50. It's 50 points for a tunnel entrance that automatically renders it worthless.

even if you don't do that, mobile infantry that don't move are dead.
The micro support laser is good though.

Not as good as the game when I took five pathfinder K9 troops, watching an MI army running from it's own dogs, brilliant.
