101 Crime Blitzes

Sometimes, the GM needs to fill a little time. Sometimes the players get a little restless. Its crime blitz time!

But coming up with an ad-hoc apartment, complete with occupants and crimes, can be tricky on the spur of the moment, and so here (hopefully) is an ever increasing list of crime-blitz results from the mundane to the just plain wacky!

Crime blitzes should be posted in the following format:

Location:
Eg slum block, Con-Apt, Mo-pad, etc

Occupant1:
Name, age, job (or more likely what they are currently *not* employed at), Craze/Hobby

Repeat for other occupants.

Prior Records:
Eg what the Justice Department already has on the occupants.

Crime 1:
Crime, evidence, DC to locate evidence

Repeat for other crimes.

Attitides:
How the occupants react to being blitzed, and to being found out.
 
1:

Location:
Standard Block Apartment

Occupant1:
Dean Pootworthy, 32, Hover-Pod Normaliser

Prior Records:
Speeding, Overdue library slug (Zen and the art of Hoverpod Maintainence).

Crime 1:
Stolen Goods: Pootworthy has a box of spare hoverpod parts that he has stolen from work - hidden in a box under a flase floor in his closet. He brings home a couple of parts a week, and is trying to assemble enough to build his own hoverpod. DC 15 to locate

Attitides:
Nervous - he is convinced the judges know everything even before the start searching. When confronted with evidence, confesses everything.

Location:
Slum Block Apartment

Occupant1:
Dougal McNoodle, 23, unemployed shop-watcher.

Occupant2:
Daisy McNoodle, 21, unemployed shop-window dummy

Occupant3:
Ditsy McNoodle, 6 months, baby.

Prior Records:
A variety of juvenile offenses for both adults - scrawling, vandalism, shoplifting. Nothing in last 2 years.

Crime 1:
Minor Hygiene infractions, DC 10 to locate - they are not hidden crimes, just the result of having an active baby in the house

Attitides:
Polite, apologetic, but slightly aggreived about being picked on. They are both trying very hard to go straight, but, it isn't easy to bring up a baby in a slum block. So far they have managed it.

Additional Notes:
Thoughful judges might realise that the arrival of the baby, and lack of recent offences, means the couple actually qualify for a larger apartment in a better block. Questioning will reveal that they have tried, but their block supervisor has refused to accept such an application without a 100 credit "Expeditory fee" - but there should be no fee for this service. Arrest the supervisor for corruption.

Location:
Upper Class block Apartment

Occupant1:
John Pew, 45, retired Entreprener

Occupant2:
Ginette Pew, 30, housewife.

Prior Records:
Slow driving, public disturbance (a couple of very vocal public arguments).

Crime 1:
Attempted Murder. John is a keen bat-glider. Ginette, who is fed up with John, has sabotaged his bat-pack and hopes to collect a tidy sum in life insurance. DC to spot - a DC 20 Tech check, *only* if somebody specifically examines the bat-gliding equipment hanging in the cupboard.

Attitides:
John, placid, laid back. Worked incredibly hard in his youth to ensure a comfortable, early retirement, and is determind to enjoy it.
Ginette - shrewish trophy-wife turned sour. Nervous of the judges' presence, but will appear simply resentful of their presence. Will fly into a rage if caught and attack her husband, somewhat innefectually.

Occupant1:
Felicity Fisher, 38, Housewife
(Currently out shopping when blitz occurs)

Occupant2:
Malcolm Fisher, 42, Store Manequin
(Currently out shopping when blitz occurs)

Occupant2:
Melissa Fisher, 16, Student, daughter of Felicity and Malcom

Occupant2:
John Jackson, 17, unemployed juve.
(John is hiding in the wardrobe in Melissa's bedroom)

Prior Records:
Felicity once served 1 month for littering.
John has done 1 year for scrawling.

Crime 1:
No actual crime is being committed. But when the judges burst in, the girl panics and hides her boyfriend in the wardrobe. When the judges ask if she is alone, she will say yes, thereby lying to a judge.

Attitides:
Nervous - Melissa is very nervous that her parents might find out about her lower class boyfriend, and doesn't think clearly about how she should be dealing with the judges. She will stutter, and get herself deeper into a web of lies. When John is found, he is very casual and doesn't lie at all. He has been seeing Melissa for a month and has comitted no crime. When the judges sentance Melissa, he will try to grab her and will accidently push one of the judges aside. The judges can choose whether to arrest him for assaulting a judge or let it go.

Prior Records:
No previous records. Official citation from Chief Judge McGruder for actions during Necropolis.

Crime 1:
Technical schematics for Lawmaster Mk III, hidden in replica Statue of Judgement.

Crime 2:
Justice Department issue skeleton code key, hidden in false bottom of sofa.

Crime 3:
Patrol routes of Judges Harris, Dickinson, Smith and McBain Sector 190.



Attitudes: James James III is for all purposes the ideal citizen. He is loyal to his city and spent many years during his youth in the cit-def and was even decorated for bravery by then Chief Judge McGruder for his actions during the darkest days of Necropolis. James has a great deal of respect for the law and her officers and since his citation has been almost completely obsessed with the Justice Department. He is a regular contributor to Justice News and is widely known on the judge spotting circuit as a man with an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of the Justice Department. Although he is a totally law abiding citizen (recently shopping his neighbours in for public disorder), his love for the law and all things ‘judge’ has left him somewhat blind to the fact that he is actually committing crimes himself.

The interior of James apartment is totally dedicated to the Justice Department. Scale models and replicas of vehicles, weapons and buildings adorn this small abode, and a huge collection of Justice Department action figures takes pride of place in a glass cabinet that runs the length of the living room wall, each in pristine condition. James has several photographs proudly on display, of himself with senior judges who all seem quite pleased to be seen with him.

James downloaded the schematics for the Lawmaster Mk III from a datanet group when they where posted there by an anonymous user. Possession of such data carries with it a mandatory 10-year stretch. James knows that it is illegal to own such material but is reluctant to destroy the data files.

The Justice Department issue skeleton key fits 99% of all locks and doors in Mega-City One and this electronic device is for judges only. Possession of this equipment carries a mandatory 5 years in the cubes. After witnessing an attack on a judge in 2120 James found the key several yards away from the dying judge. On instinct he picked the key up as he waited for aid to arrive. After giving a detailed account of the incident to the judges he was released from Sector House 178 without charge and was commended for his quick thinking and attempts to save the life of the judge. The duty judge who interrogated James at 178, Judge Martins is guilty of not carrying out a body search of the suspect.

The patrol routes of the female judges; Harris, Dickinson, Smith and McBain of Sector 190 could be very dangerous if they fell into the wrong hands. Nicknamed the ‘Iron Maidens’ by judge spotters in the sector, James has spent months gathering information on their daily actions and patrol routes. Although this information is not illegal in its own right, it could be seen as a public order offence and carries a 6 year stretch in the cubes and mandatory re-education order.

James James III would rather die than let any of the above fall into the hands of someone who could use them against his much beloved Justice Department, and he has recently come to the attention of the Hussain Mob in Sector 190 who believe that he may be of use in the future.
